About Sisters Games

What do we do at Sisters' Games?

This website was set up to help organise and advertise sporting and social events for muslim ladies in and around Birmingham. We now welcome non-muslim ladies in the community to join us also. Particular attention is given to those events which provide for the needs of muslim women in particular, especially with respect to segregation and other Islamic values. Here you will find information on forthcoming events and you will also be able to put your name down for them in the Guestbooks.

Why was Sisters' Games set up?

In the past few years I have found it difficult to find sporting activities to be involved with which are local and which are fully segregated for women only. I therefore decided to try and set up some games for women only myself with help from my husband.

How did it begin?

Sisters Games began in June 2006 with an occassional 1 hour games of indoor badminton arranged on varying days of the week. Eventually as the numbers have grown (with a little advertising), we began to bulk book the indoor sports hall at the Amanah Centre first for football only and now badminton and football.

We welcome your suggestions and comments on how we can improve what we offer. Sisters' Games is run by a wife & husband team - Shahina and her husband, Amin, who helps to manage the website and emails and to take enquiries from brothers.
